Dispatch Team Leader

Own dispatch and yard operations, with real training and a genuine path into leadership.

The Short Version

Dispatch Team Leader|St Marys|$70,000 - $75,000 + Super + Bonus

I've partnered with a well-established manufacturer in Western Sydney. This role puts you at the centre of daily dispatch and yard operations, with hands-on training from a site manager who wants to see you grow.

Why This One's Worth A Look

This is a genuine opportunity to be mentored by a site leader who's serious about developing his people, and that's rare in this industry. You'll get real training and ongoing support, with a track record of people here being promoted into other roles as they've grown.

If you’d love to be a Production Manager, Transport Manager or Site / Ops Manager one day, this is a great place to start!

  • Full-time, permanent role. No weekends, no shift work

  • Hours: 6am to 2.30pm Monday to Thursday, finish at 12pm Fridays

  • Based in St Marys. You'll need your own transport, as there's no public transport to the site

  • Ongoing training, support and genuine career development

The Impact You'd Make

You'll split your time between the yard and the office, coordinating dispatch and transport movements daily and liaising with production, logistics, yard and office staff.

You'll have a few months to get across the process and operations, with training and support along the way, before taking on a small team of forklift operators and a driver to lead.

  • Coordinate daily dispatch and transport movements, including truck scheduling with freight providers

  • Process daily picklists and despatch paperwork, and manage pallet exchange (Loscam/CHEP) and stock counts

  • No two days look the same. When production changes, you'll reschedule deliveries and keep customers and drivers in the loop

  • Work closely with the Customer Service Manager on the daily backorder report

  • Run toolbox talks and safety walks, and keep Chain of Responsibility and safety standards on track (you will be trained)

What You'll Bring

A positive, driven, can-do attitude matters more than anything else here. Whether you're already a leading hand or supervisor, or you're in a customer-facing dispatch or logistics role and ready for more hands-on operations exposure, this is a genuine foundation to build a career in production or operations management.

  • Experience in a manufacturing, production, warehousing, or customer-service-heavy dispatch or logistics environment

  • Comfortable with systems and technology. SAP experience is a bonus

  • Forklift licence preferred, or willing to obtain

  • Your own transport, as there's no public transport to the site

  • Reliable and accountable, ready to take ownership, step up and lead.

Who You'd Be Working With

You'll be joining a small, close-knit and high-performing team of 20+ people, part of a larger business. Day to day, you'll work with people right across the site, and plenty of people beyond it too.

  • Production, logistics, yard and warehouse teams on site

  • Internal and external drivers, transport companies and contractors

  • Suppliers, plus colleagues in head office and other locations
