The Impact You'd Make
Everything that comes in and goes out of this site goes through you. Parts arrive by container, get checked, tested and put away, and the machines are stored in the yard until they head out to customers. The person before you reorganised the bays and storage areas, so you're walking into something that already works. Your job is to own it.
Receive and despatch parts, machines and containers, and keep the paperwork right
Keep stock accurate in the system so everyone knows what's on hand
Keep the warehouse and parts bays organised and the yard in order
Help out the workshop and the wider team once you've been cross-trained
You'll know every part on the shelf and every machine in the yard, and people will come to you because of it.
What You'll Bring
You don't need to have done this exact job, because the team will train you on everything. What matters is this.
Some experience in a warehouse, stores, yard, stockroom or receiving role, and a clear idea of what this one involves: part office, part warehouse, part yard
Reliability you can back up. You turn up, follow through and own your work
Comfort on a computer. The system is Excel based and logical, and nobody's rushing you while you learn it
Happy to lift and carry when needed. Most parts are small and the heavy lifting is occasional
A forklift licence is a bonus. If you don't have one, the business will put you through it.
A pre-employment medical is part of the process before you start
Who You'd Be Working With
You'd report to the Operations Manager, who'll train you personally from start to finish.
He's hands-on, and the team around him is small, settled and quick to help each other out. With fewer than 20 people on site you'll know everyone within a week, and the pace means there's time to learn things properly. You will liaise with suppliers, contractors, transport operators and customers.
